PALUDARIUM
Where Land and Water Become One Landscape.
Living compositions where terrestrial planting, aquatic growth, natural hardscape and moving water converge within a single ecosystem.

What is a Paludarium?
A PaluVurse Paludarium combines terrestrial and aquatic environments within one living composition. Plants, stone, prepared water-safe wood and an integrated water zone transition naturally across the landscape, creating an ecosystem that exists both above and below the waterline.
Choose Your Size
Select a Standard Paludarium size composed as an integrated land-and-water landscape.
Medium Paludarium

Signature Composition
PaluVurse Paludariums are composed as integrated land-and-water landscapes using approved terrestrial and aquatic plants, natural stone, prepared water-safe wood and a concealed recirculating water system. Each Standard Paludarium is curated according to compatibility, scale, available growing space, water-zone proportions, specimen quality and the final visual balance.
01
LAND + AQUATIC PLANTING
Approved terrestrial and aquatic plants are composed across the transition between land and water according to compatibility, mature scale and the final landscape.
02
NATURAL HARDSCAPE
Stone and prepared water-safe wood create structure, elevation, planting opportunities and continuity throughout the landscape.
03
CONCEALED WATER CIRCULATION
An integrated recirculating water system creates continuous water movement while remaining visually concealed within the composition.
04
MOVING WATER
Medium and Large Paludariums include an integrated waterfall, adding movement, sound and another visual layer to the ecosystem. The Small Paludarium maintains an integrated water zone without a waterfall.
05
WATER ZONE
The aquatic zone forms an integral part of the composition, creating a transition between submerged growth, open water and the terrestrial landscape.
06
LAYERED SUBSTRATE
Terrestrial and aquatic growing areas use purpose-selected materials appropriate to the planting, moisture and water conditions of each zone.
07
ENVIRONMENTAL BALANCE
Lighting, humidity, water movement and planting conditions are balanced around the requirements of the living environment.
08
INTEGRATED LIGHTING
A dimmable full-spectrum plant light is selected for the enclosure and calibrated according to the requirements of the terrestrial and aquatic planting.
Designed to Be Lived With
01 ROUTINE Observation
Monitor water level, plant health, lighting, humidity, water movement and general ecosystem condition as part of regular care.
02 Care Level
MODERATE CARE
Paludariums require moderate routine care across both the terrestrial and aquatic portions of the ecosystem, including plant care, water level, water quality, circulation and equipment monitoring.
03 Maintenance
PaluVurse provides care guidance for trimming, water testing, lighting and the ongoing maintenance of the living environment.
A Paludarium is a dynamic living environment shaped by plant growth, circulating water and the gradual maturation of its terrestrial and aquatic zones. Routine observation, appropriate lighting, water quality and straightforward ongoing maintenance help preserve the balance and visual clarity of the composition.
Enhance Your Ecosystem
ADDITIONAL PLANT
Add compatible terrestrial or aquatic planting selected by PaluVurse according to the ecosystem, available capacity and final composition.
Terrestrial and aquatic additions share the same combined plant-capacity limit:
Small: maximum 1
Medium: maximum 2
Large: maximum 3
ADDITIONAL MOSS
Increase living moss coverage in suitable terrestrial, transition or wet areas of the composition. Moss does not consume additional-plant capacity.
ADDITIONAL ROCKS
Additional water-safe natural stone selected and positioned by PaluVurse to increase structure, elevation and visual depth.
ADDITIONAL WATER-SAFE WOOD
Additional prepared water-safe wood selected according to the scale and composition of the ecosystem.
AQUATIC LIVESTOCK FILTRATION
Medium + Large
Adds mechanical and biological filtration beyond the Standard water-circulation system for compatible future aquatic livestock. Biological cycling and species-specific validation are still required before livestock is introduced. Livestock is not included.
FOGGER SYSTEM
An integrated fogger introduces atmospheric mist across the land-and-water transition for a more dramatic visual effect.
AUTOMATIC MISTING
An automated misting system provides scheduled moisture to appropriate terrestrial planting and can reduce the need for manual misting.
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
Digital monitoring helps track environmental conditions such as humidity and terrestrial-zone temperature.
CARE & WATER TESTING
Care and water-testing tools selected to support routine maintenance and monitoring of aquatic conditions.

PALUDARIUM FAQs
Do paludariums require maintenance?
Yes. Paludariums require regular care of both their terrestrial and aquatic environments, including observation of plant growth, water level, water quality, glass condition and the circulation system. Care frequency varies as the ecosystem develops.
Is a waterfall included?
The Small Paludarium includes an integrated water zone but no waterfall.
The Medium Paludarium includes an integrated waterfall as Standard.
The Large Paludarium includes an integrated waterfall as Standard.
Can fish or shrimp be added?
Compatible aquatic livestock may be possible in appropriately sized Paludariums after the water volume, species requirements, water quality and filtration needs have been reviewed. Fish-Ready Filtration is available as an enhancement for Medium and Large Paludariums where appropriate. Livestock is not included with the Standard ecosystem. PaluVurse should validate compatibility before the habitat is prepared for a specific aquatic species.
Are plants included?
Yes. Every Standard Paludarium includes both terrestrial and aquatic live plants selected by PaluVurse according to compatibility, mature scale, specimen quality, availability and the final composition.
Do you use Quebec or Canadian materials?
Whenever practical, PaluVurse aims to source suitable plants, stone, wood and other materials from Quebec and Canadian suppliers while maintaining the quality and compatibility required for the ecosystem.
